Smiles Foundation was created in 1992 by a group of friends, with the only purpose of making a better Christmas for thousands of underprivileged children in Latin America.

Observing the children in the streets on one Christmas night in Bogota, inspired Alfonso Jaramillo to alert his friends and raise funds to distribute gifts to unfortunate children in Colombia, with the premise that this might be the only gift and hope of a lonely child in Christmas.
Since then, Smiles Foundation has multiplied thousands of children's smiles in Colombia.

Recently, Miami based Architect and Green Design Expert, Patricia Calasich joined the group to expand its mission to Bolivia to deliver thousands of Christmas gifts and school supplies trough the partnership with local non-for-profit organizations in her home country.

To raise greater awareness and deliver valid support, The Smiles Foundation group partnered in 2009 with Conexion Colombia. This organization channels resources, in an efficient and reliable manner, from anywhere in the world to a portfolio of 40 charities and certified high social impact projects.

To contribute towards making a difference among underprivileged children in Latin America, Smiles Foundation raises funds during the Night for Smiles, an event held every year in the City of Miami that is sponsored by different local organizations, private businesses and the support of friends and family members.

The funds collected at the Night for Smiles are distributed among different non-profit organizations in Colombia through Conexion Colombia and in Bolivia through Smiles Foundation Bolivia, who partners with other local non-profits to execute projects that help children receive a special gift during Christmas and promote education trough the distribution of school supplies.

The Night for Smiles is an opportunity to make a child smile and give hope for a better life. At the same time, it gives you the opportunity to get together with personalities connected to the Latin American community in Miami.

In 2010, the inspiration filled evening touched the hearts of the guests and brought the attention of the great need underprivileged children face in Latin America. In 2011, Smiles Foundation is celebrating its eighth consecutive year of activities and the organizers are exceeding all expectations for its guests.
